Emperor Saga's Sagayama Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Emperor Saga, located in Saga-Arashiyama. From the summit, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Kyoto city, including Hirosawa Pond and Kyoto Tower.

・About Emperor Saga: Emperor Saga was the 52nd emperor of the Heian period. He was said to have excelled in calligraphy, and was later praised as one of the "Three Great Calligraphers," along with Kukai and Tachibana no Hayase. His father was Emperor Kanmu, who moved the capital to Heian-kyo.
・About a mausoleum: A mausoleum is the tomb of a deceased emperor.
・Panoramic views of Kyoto city: To reach the mausoleum, one must ascend a mountain path northwest of Daikaku-ji Temple, a long staircase of 529 stone steps. It offers the second best view in Arashiyama, after the Ogurayama Observatory.
