In order to ensure that your stay with us is one of the best memories you'll make during your trip to Arashiyama, we happily provide you with some of the finer things in life.

People travel to celebrate some of the biggest events in their lives, such as a birthday, engagement, or anniversary; we can prepare decorations and help with surprises for special occasions upon request.

  • Bike Rentals

    What cooler and more fun way to see all of the hidden sights in Arashiyama than by bicycle? We have bikes for the entire family including the kids, with kids' bike seats also available to attach onto adult bikes. This is definitely a must-try in Arashiyama.

    We can provide helmets. Bikes may be rented at any time and are subject to availability.

  • Special Celebration

    Whether the occasion is a birthday or a special anniversary, we'll supply a whole cake from the local Kyoto bakery Baikal, which has been around since 1955, to help you celebrate. We can also provide flower bouquets and other celebratory arrangements at your request based on the desired size and budget.

  • Room Decorations

    Our staff has professional birthday planning experience and wants to make your room festive for your birthday celebration. We'll decorate your room to match the occasion with balloons and everything to make the birthday person feel extra special. We can also decorate for engagements and other special life events. Just let us know how grand or small you'd like the decorations, and we'll happily cater to your requests.

  • Kimono Rental

    The best way to experience the city of Kyoto, which was Japan's capital for over 1,000 years, is by wearing the traditional garb of the time: a kimono or yukata. We can provide hotel guests with a special discount for a kimono rental at our partner shops, which includes returning the kimono/yukata to our hotel staff to return to the shop for you, saving you the hassle.

  • Photo Shoot with Wedding Kimono

    KYO-WEDDING is offering your partner and you a memorable experience. You can dress up in traditional wedding kimono and visit famous Arashiyama spots, like the bamboo forest or temple with a professional photographer.
    All the photographs will be yours, and with a photo shoot reservation there's a discount at The Grand West Arashiyama.


    You will receive a booking URL whith a special room discount page AFTER you book your photo shoot.

    Kids often have mountains of toys back home, so we have lots of toys stocked for your kids at our hotel as well. This means that the kids can keep occupied with toys as far as their imagination takes them during your stay with us, and less headaches for the adults.

  • Catering Kaiseki (Room Service)

    We provide room service with seasonal dishes brought to your room from well-established Arashiyama restaurants, which you can experience the refined aspects not just from the visual eloquence, but in the traditional flavors as well.


    Note: The dishes and restaurant will vary depending on the season.


    Adults (13 & older): 6,000JPY and up

    Kids (6-12): 4,000JPY and up

    Kids (5 and under): 3,000JPY and up

    If you'd like your meal served at a specific time, please let us know beforehand. Deadline for catering requests is at 3:00PM three days prior to the desired meal date.

  • Bento Box Lunch

    Nothing says Kyoto kaiseki, or traditional Kyoto course meal, like a bento box full of various dishes. These meals are meant to be easy to carry so you can take them to any of the sightseeing places on your list, such as the Togetsu Bridge/Arashiyama Park area.


    Adults: Starts at 3,600JPY

    Kids 12 & under: Starts at 2,500JPY

    Pick-up Details:

    We'll give you your bento box in the lobby at 11:00AM on the day after you check in. If you've booked a one-night stay, we'll give you the bento box on the day you check out.

  •  Thirteen Worshippers (Ju-san Mairi)

    As a traditional coming of age ceremony, kids who turn 13 during the calendar year are taken to pray to Kokuzo Bosatsu (Akasagarbha Bodhisattva) for wisdom and to ward off misfortune. One popular temple for this ceremony is Horin Temple, which is within a five-minute walk from The GrandWest Arashiyama. We can organize traditional kimono rentals so you can get the full Ju-san Mairi experience.

    Details of what you'll get:

    • Discount on a kimono rental.

    • Belongings will be delivered to and from the hotel/kimono rental store.

    • Rental kimono and yukata can be returned to the hotel staff.

    • Late check-out at 1pm (please confirm with staff)

  • Rickshaw Ride

    Rickshaw drivers go around all corners of the city and know all the hidden gems of the area. This is perfect for people who don't have a particular destination and would like to see Kyoto from a unique perspective: while riding on a rickshaw. You'll have the opportunity to hear interesting facts or stories from the rickshaw driver, get your picture taken, and experience a more traditional means of sightseeing.

  • Luggage Delivery Service

    After you check out, we can hold onto your luggage so you don't have to worry about carrying it with you. Also, we can save you the trouble during your travels in Kyoto by sending your luggage to wherever you're planning on going next, whether it be Kyoto Station or your next hotel. We also accept luggage from Kyoto Station to be delivered to our hotel before you check in.


    Within Kyoto City: 800JPY/piece of luggage

    To Kyoto Station: 1,000JPY/piece of luggage

    To Kansai Airport Station: 2,000JPY/piece of luggage



    We can send luggage from our hotel. 

    The latest that we can accept luggage for shipping is 9:30AM on the day that you check out courtesy of Crosta Kyoto.



    There may be some hotels where we cannot send luggage.

  • Hot Spring

    Fufu-no-Yu, a hot spring which is a six-minute walk from our hotel, is Arashiyama's only open-air hot spring where you can enjoy a hot spring in the natural open environment. They also have open-air baths and saunas. They provide shampoo and body wash, so all you need to do is dress in our yukata provided for you, grab a towel available in our lobby, and go for a soak at your leisure.

  • Sightseeing Taxi

    How about taking a ride to some of Kyoto's best sightseeing spots in a taxi driven by a local who's been in the area and knows all the details only locals really know? Even if you already have a destination in mind, they can provide suggestions on the best course to take and more. Feel free to let us know if you have a sightseeing destination you'd like to visit!

  • Rooftop Terrace

    Our rooftop terrace gives you the chance to see Arashiyama from above, along with all the mountains that surround the area. We've designed the rooftop to be a calming, relaxing atmosphere with a soft grass-like surface that's kid-friendly and cozy sofas for everyone. You can hang out there for a while and enjoy a meal brought to you by room service under the beautiful sky.



    Available for food, drinks, napping, and yoga.


    We hold events on the rooftop terrace year-round, such as a viewing of the Gozan no Okuribi (Daimonji Festival) where the kanji characters are lit on fire on the mountainside in August and watching the first sunrise of the year on New Year's Day.
