Yusaitei

Yusaitei in Arashiyama is a dyeing art gallery created by dyeing artist Yusai Okuda. It's housed in a renovated 150-year-old historic building. Experience traditional Japanese beauty while admiring the beautiful scenery.


◇ Yusaitei's Attractions


・Water Mirror View: The scenery reflected in the building's water mirror is breathtakingly beautiful and is a famous photo spot.


・Dyeing Art: You can see works created using Yusai Okuda's "Yumekouro Dyeing" dyeing technique. These works are so popular that, at the recommendation of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, they have been exhibited at the Louvre Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.


・A Place Connected to Yasunari Kawabata: Yusaitei was formerly known as the "Chidori" inn, and is where the literary master Yasunari Kawabata wrote "The Sound of the Mountains."
