Tsukiyomi Shrine

Tsukiyomi Shrine is located in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City. It is said to have been established in 856 and is known for its rich history.


◇Attractions


・Prayers for safe childbirth: Within the shrine grounds is a stone known as "Tsukien-seki," which Empress Jingu is said to have touched during her safe childbirth. For this reason, the shrine has long been known as a sacred place for prayers for safe childbirth. Many pregnant women visit, especially on the "Day of the Dog" (the Day of the Dog).


・Prince Shotoku Shrine: This shrine is dedicated to Prince Shotoku and is also recommended for academic prayers.


・Main Hall: Remains of the Edo period architecture, allowing you to feel the history of the shrine.
