The Hozugawa River Cruise

The Hozugawa River Cruise is a two-hour pleasure boat ride down the Hozu River from Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, to Arashiyama. Why not spend a relaxing time admiring the beautiful scenery of each season?

◇The History of the Hozugawa River Cruise: The Hozugawa River Cruise, built on a waterway opened by Suminokura Ryoi during the Edo period, has a history of approximately 400 years.

・Hozukyo Gorge: This section of the gorge is the most beautiful, lined with strangely shaped rocks and bizarre stones.


・Encounter with the Torokko Train: There is a section where the train runs parallel to the Sagano Scenic Line's Torokko Train, allowing you to take photos together.

◇Hozugawa River Cruise Reservations


Reservations for groups of 10 or more must be made by phone, while reservations for groups of less than 10 must be made online through the official website. Individual groups of less than 10 people without reservations can board the boat with same-day tickets (first-come, first-served basis). Online reservations are accepted until the day before. For same-day reservations, please use same-day tickets.

Adult / per person: ¥6,000


Child / per person (preschool to elementary school age): ¥4,500


◇Access to the Hozugawa River Cruise


The boarding point is a 7-minute walk from Kameoka Station. The dock is in the center of Arashiyama (upstream from Togetsukyo Bridge).


It takes about 35 minutes by train and bus from our hotel to the boarding point.
