Jojakkoji Temple is a Nichiren sect temple located halfway up Mount Ogura in Arashiyama. It's also known for its autumn foliage, particularly in autumn, when the stone steps leading to the main hall are covered in vibrant foliage.
History and Features
Architecture: The main hall, a relocated guest hall from Fushimi Castle, is characterized by its imposing construction. The Niomon Gate, a majestic gate dating back to the Nanboku-cho period, evokes a sense of history.
Garden: The garden offers beautiful scenery throughout the seasons. The autumn foliage is especially picturesque.
