Jikshi-an is a Jodo sect temple located in Saga-Arashiyama. Its tranquil setting offers a place where you can truly reflect on yourself.
◇Attractions
・Seasonal Nature: The temple offers beautiful seasonal scenery, including cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves, as well as hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, and willows. You can also enjoy the bamboo forest year-round.
・Origin of the Name: "Jikshi" is a Buddhist term meaning "to point out the truth immediately."
・Memories Notebook: The main hall of Jikshi-an houses a "Memories Notebook." It is said that if you write down your worries and suffering in this notebook, Kannon Bodhisattva will save you from your suffering. You can freely write your thoughts, and the temple now houses over 5,000 notebooks.
◇Access: It is approximately a 20-minute bus ride from Arashiyama Station on the Arashiyama Electric Railway, in the heart of Arashiyama, and approximately a 30-minute bus ride from the hotel.
