Daikakuji Temple is a historic temple that originated as a detached palace built by Emperor Saga during the Heian period. Today, it serves as the head temple of the Daikakuji branch of the Shingon sect, attracting many worshippers.

・Seishinden: This building, designated an Important Cultural Property, features stunning sliding screen paintings of peonies and red plum blossoms by Azuchi-Momoyama period painter Kano Sanraku. ・Osawa Pond: This pond, commissioned by Emperor Saga to resemble China's Dongting Lake, offers beautiful seasonal scenery.
・Sutra Shaking Dojo: A dojo for copying the Heart Sutra.
